MY CUT FLOWER GARDEN

This year’s garden begins quietly — with seed trays on the kitchen table and packets spread out in the afternoon light.

I’m just starting to sow seeds indoors, planting the first chapters of a season guided by a designer’s eye. Thinking in colour stories, soft movement, and how everything will eventually flow together — from seed tray, to garden bed, to vase (and sometimes the table).

I’m a big foodie who loves to cook at home, so I grow the same way I design and cook — guided by the seasons, choosing ingredients and flowers that feel right now. I design with what’s blooming, and I build recipes around what’s ready to be harvested.

Sweet peas for tenderness, snapdragons for structure, cosmos and zinnias for that effortless summer feeling.
Pansies and poppies to welcome the season early, dahlias arriving later with their full, dramatic pause.
And woven through it all — tomatoes, lettuces, herbs — because a beautiful garden should nourish you in every sense.

Here’s how I recommend selecting flower seeds when your goal is beauty, joy, and flowers that actually get used.
